Welcome to my first photography post of my first official maternity shoot! Since that time I have gotten the proper software, learned how to focus, shoot down, use ISO the best way and all the things that would have made these photographs turn out even more amazing. I have learned so much through the process of taking these photos and various webinars I can’t wait to get behind the lens and capture another family’s journey or celebration. So Megan…when baby #2 comes I will be ready 😉
Megan and I know each other from our hometown and mostly because our sisters are dear friends. Megan opened her home to me and welcomed me with open arms…who knows if the half dozen donuts I brought (a clue from her sister that she was having a sweet tooth) had anything to do with it! Megan and Scott are warmhearted, kind, and genuine. They also made me laugh out loud, particularly Megan who I can’t wait to see as a first time mom. She is going to be awesome. I have no doubt. Funny thing is, by the time I have gotten around to writing this post she already is a mom! I have seen the social media posts and Brantley is just precious.
It was important for Megan to have some of these detail shots. She and I had a great time chatting the weeks leading up to the photo shoot about what she was looking for. Here are some of my favorites.
Much to my chagrin Scott is a HUGE Alabama fan…don’t worry Brantley I will teach you how to chomp when your parents aren’t looking. Go Gators!
Megan found this awesome dress to wear for her outdoor photos. I so appreciate the support and the feedback from Jordan Demos about styling for maternity sessions! I am still exploring to find my own voice in photography – light and airy vs. high contrast so that is also while you will see a variety in this post (smh). Which do you prefer, luminous and light…
…or a little more dark and dramatic?
This white lace number was so beautiful. Megan is one of those women totally embraced being pregnant and as you can see she absolutely glowed. Because I love these photos so much I am thinking I lean more toward the light and airy style of photography. Maybe?
I am excited to share with y’all the start of my photography journey. You need not worry, cooking still has my heart and I will continue to share recipes and photos of my food. I am even considering and brainstorming how to combine these two hobbies of mine…so stay tuned!
